Locally Embedded
Living and serving within the community since 2019.
We are the Tabacaru family, a Christian mission based on Espiritu Santo, working alongside Ni-Vanuatu communities to strengthen health, education, youth development, disaster resilience and local leadership.
With God's strength, peace and provision, we give all we have for the one. Through practical care, meaningful relationships and faith in action, we help people and communities thrive.
Living and serving within the community since 2019.
Responding to needs across health, education, youth and disaster relief.
Supporting Ni-Vanuatu facilitators, coaches, churches and community leaders.
Sharing the love of Jesus through practical care and lasting relationships.
In 2019, we packed up our life in Brisbane and moved our young family to one of the most remote island nations on earth. Not because it was easy, but because we believed that every single person matters to God.
Today, we live alongside Ni-Vanuatu communities on Espiritu Santo, sharing life, building trust, and walking with people through the beautiful and the hard. We are not here for a season. This is home.
Alongside local churches, educators and health workers, we deliver programs spanning teen girl ministry, medical outreach, disaster relief, kids rugby and school support, all entirely volunteer-led and funded by the generosity of people like you.
The work is deeply personal. It begins with listening, building trust and walking alongside the people God has placed in front of us, one person at a time.

Since 2019, we have served alongside Ni-Vanuatu communities across Espiritu Santo. Behind every number is a person, a family and a story that matters.

We did not come to Vanuatu with a plan to impose. We came to listen, to learn and to serve. Lasting change only happens when local people lead.
On Espiritu Santo, we work alongside Ni-Vanuatu pastors, teachers, health workers, rugby coaches and community leaders. Every program, from teen girl ministry to disaster relief, is shaped by local knowledge, language and priorities.
We are entirely volunteer-led and funded by the generosity of supporters. There are no salaries, no overheads, just people helping people. Your partnership makes this possible.
A boy on a beach, throwing starfish back into the ocean one at a time. When told he could not make a difference, he smiled and said, "I made a difference for that one." This story inspires everything we do.

Every step we take on Espiritu Santo is anchored in Scripture. These are the promises we hold onto and the calling we follow as we serve the one, the family, and the future.

We believe in the power of prayer. If you would like to commit to praying for our family and the communities we serve, we would be deeply grateful.
